Sawai Madhopur railway station (Sawai Madhopur Junction – SWM) is a railway station on the West Central railway network. It is an important halt for all trains that are bound for Jaipur, Mumbai & Delhi. Trains that are bound for Jaipur reverse direction & switch over to diesel traction here. ==Lines== The main lines passing through Sawai Madhopur are : * Mumbai – New Delhi line via Kota ( broad gauge line) * Jaipur – Sawai Madhopur line terminates at Sawai madhopur (Single Broad gauge Diesel line ) * Ajmer – Sawai Madhopur line via Tonk ( Proposed ) The government has approved the construction of a new broad gauge line between Ajmer and Sawai Madhopur via Tonk in Rajasthan. The total length of the new line will be 165 km. The line will be completed in eight years during the 13th Plan period.
